Anyone know where can I look for shot or sandbags for fretting/refretting work? My area's not big on large sporting centers like Cabella's...plus the shipping of such a thing would be prohibitive... ![]() |

Larry I am pretty sure you will have a rload supplier in your area. Most any gun shop will have shot I would think. Heck our Wal-mart has reloading supplies. |

Larry, if you go with shot, be sure to get the finest (smallest) available. I once got some more course stuff and it dented a finish. ARRRRG! |

Anyone know of a good source for leather bags to hold shot for neckwork? I'm always afraid the plastic bag that it came in is going to split. Plus, leather would give a nice soft grippy layer to prevent any dings or imprints on the guitar. I haven't done very much fretwork so far, so it hasn't really been an issue for me yet. |

I got some SUPER heavy duty plastic bags from Uline that I encased the shot bag in. I heat sealed it closed. So far no tears or perforations. I have wondered / worried a little about the plastic coming in contact with the finish.... but so far no problems. |

Larry, There's a new Sportmans Warehouse at Winchester and Hack's Cross. They have a ton of reloading supplies there. Prices aren't bad either. For bags, I cut the legs out of an old pair of blue jeans and tied the ends together. |

I got my shotgun shot bag at a local gun store. Been using it for years now, and it came in it's own little cloth bag. |

Couldn't find shot locally, but I have a beach out front full of, you guessed it, beach sand, A shovel full in a garbage bag, doubled, then slipped this into an old pillow case. If it works.... My money's better off in my pocket than in Wally's. |

Or could you use beach sand in plastic bag than into a cut off leg from your jeans that you needed for a new pair of shorts, or would the jean pattern be to big and leave an imprint on the finish? |

Bob, right you are! Whenever the airline used to send me to Buffalo, I was there! I don't know if all the folklore about the anchor is true, but the proof is in the WINGS! ![]() |

Larry it's true. The owner wrote an article in the local newpaper years ago on how they started making Buffalo Wings. John Madden used to rave about them when he was a color man for football games. Just curious as to what happens to all those chickens with no wings. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I use a leather fore end rest made for benchreat rifle shooting. They can be purchased from your local gun shop. Works real good, and lasts a long time. Al Peebels |
